AAJFL PLAYING RULES
Unlike most youth or junior leagues in the state of Florida that plays football under the NFHS rules, AAJFL franchise teams will be playing under the NCAA modified rules. Exceptions to the NCAA rules.

1. Teams may use NFHS regulation goal post rather than NCAA.
2. Teams may use NFHS or NCAA regulation football.
3. There will be not instant replays.
4. Players may wear any color gloves except ball- or penalty flag color.

AAJFL believes allowing their franchise teams to play under the NCAA modified rules will make for a more exciting football game. Here are a few rules we know coaches and players will enjoy.

1. Teams will play 12 minute quaters for the regular season and play-offs. The Senior Farewell Game and All-American Bowl will be 15 minute quaters.
2. Defense may return a Try for (extra) Points for two (2) points.
3. Outside the tackles the Passer may throw away the ball. This is not allowed under the NFHS rules.
4. Defense offsides is a live ball foul (a player can get back)rather than NFHS rules where the ball is dead immediately. Offense gets a free play.
